Instant access to all class recordings & resources

Digestion as the Center of Physiology

In this 3 class series, we explore digestion as the foundation of health, and learn simple strategies and practices to support this essential daily task.

We use the lens of Chinese medicine and Five Element theory to understand:

  • what healthy digestion looks like, and what commonly goes wrong,

  • how other physiological processes both support and depend upon a functional digestive process,

  • the unique tasks and needs of each organ—stomach, spleen, liver, gallbladder, small intestine, and large intestine,

  • how certain foods and flavors can help or harm, and

  • practices to foster a lifetime of digestive ease and well-being.

Course Details

  • You will get access to 3 one hour class recordings that were delivered live weekly.

  • Each 1 hour session contains lecture, guided exercises, and Q&A.

  • On the Teachable platform: additional reading list and resources.

  • Suggested study method: watch one video per week and take time to integrate the material before moving on.

About the Instructor

I’m Angie, an acupuncturist, herbalist, and doctor of Chinese medicine. I created this class to share the perspectives and strategies I regularly offer to patients seeking support with digestive function.

Chinese medicine offers a unique lens on health and the human experience, with a deep understanding of how multiple systems exist in functional relationships and how our emotional lives affect our physical health.

As a clinician, I have used this framework to help many confused, stressed, and exhausted humans find their way to healthier, more functional bodies and a clearer sense of purpose and vitality.

Testimonials

“I would honestly buy a book of your opinions on everything. You're seriously gifted and in tune with the things that matter most.” -JS

This all felt really helpful, practical, and realistic. In each section, Angie describes everything systematically, and then has interactive exercises which clarify and reinforce the themes.” -CJ

“I recently had the opportunity to join one of Angie’s courses and was blown away—the organization and structure of her class were masterfully designed to enhance students’ learning. As a professor and academician of 20 years in higher education, I know how rare it is to find both an expert practitioner and an expert teacher in one person; people usually excel in one area or the other. Angie is both!” -GP
